The Optical Department at The Eye Care Center

Our experts are here to help you with your eyeglasses and contact lenses six days a week, and Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Sit down, have a cup of coffee, and let our combined 200 years of experience work for you.

Styles for Everyone, Fitted for You

With 1,000 frames to choose from, you’re sure to find one that suits you. We carry designer frames from Coach, Banana Republic, Christian Dior, Lulu Guinness, Jessica McClintock, and Cole Haan, traditional value styles, children’s sizes and sunglasses. We offer more choices than anyone in the area. If that sounds overwhelming, one of our five highly trained licensed opticians can recommend a pair.

We specialize in hard-to-fit eyewear, such as correction for high astigmatism or bifocal contact lenses. We have an optical lab on site, so we can have your lenses ready when you need them.

Compare Us to Others

We care about quick delivery and good looks, but we also look out for your health. All our glasses come with free UV protection and scratch resistant coating. We also give you a free one-year warranty. Most of our competitors charge for that promise of quality.

The best news is that the Eye Care Center’s top-notch service comes at competitive prices. The results of our regular price surveys indicate that most of the time our prices are lower than other optical retailers in the area. If you have your eyes examined at the Eye Care Center, a 20% discount immediately applies to all of your purchases.

 Make Vision Safety Your Business

Do you need glasses for protection as well as improving your vision? It’s rare, but lenses can break or shatter, and frames can bend or twist enough to cause serious injury.

Depending on your activities, frames designed with the newest trends in mind might not protect you well enough. Please ask our opticians for their suggestions, but here are some pointers:

  • Trivex and Polycarbonate lenses are the strongest. Federal law requires that every lens meet a certain impact standard, but those “cool” designer lenses are not required to meet as vigilant a standard.
  • If your protective glasses are dinged and chipped, replace them. The more wear and tear, the more likely something is going to give.
  • Regular glasses might not be enough protection for your job or hobby. If you work with particles or pieces of material sailing through the air, you may need special safety lenses with side shields, goggles or even a full face shield.
